ImageJuventus are working on two strategies simultaneously for defensive recruitment this summer. The club's key target Johan Lukumi is also being considered, as well as former Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic. Juventus enjoys a significant structural advantage in the purchase of Muharremovic, which could make the operation more financially attractive. Juventus have retained 50% of the future sale of Muharremovic since joining their Next Gen side during the player's development. This clause led Sassuolo to increase their demand as Inter searched for a deal earlier this summer, complicating those negotiations. Now Carnevali plans to use this advantage, with reports suggesting the Bianconeri could secure Muharremovic for a cut-price fee. On the other hand, there is urgency in Lucumi's case as Bologna have demanded €25 million for the Colombian centre-back, while Juventus have rejected an earlier offer of €18-20 million. Importantly, the €28 million release clause is only valid until mid-July, after which Premier League clubs can join the deal and significantly increase the price. Spalletti first identified Lucumi as a defensive priority in January, and Juventus want to avoid complications in this window. Meanwhile, Muharremovic is representing Bosnia at the World Cup, having missed Qatar's match against Switzerland due to a red card.Image
