On 26 June 2026, Senegal defeated Iraq 5–0 in a Group I third round match of the 2026 World Cup. This match was played at B-M-O Field in Toronto, Canada. The match was officiated by referee Anthony Taylor of England.

The first goal in the match was scored by Senegalese midfielder Habib Diarra in the fourth minute. Iraqi player Rabin Sulaka received a red card in the 13th minute, after which Iraq had to play with 10 players.

Senegalese forward Ismael Sarr scored the second goal in the 56th minute and then Senegalese midfielder Pap Geaye made the score 3–0 in the 59th minute. Pap Geay scored his second goal in the 71st minute to make the score 4–0. Ultimately, Senegal forward Iliman Ndiaye scored the final goal in the 82nd minute to make the score 5–0.With this win, Iraq finished fourth in Group I with no points from three matches. Whereas, Senegal secured third place with three points. France is in first place in Group I, which has scored 9 points. The group stage will be held from June 11 to 27, in which all the teams will play three matches against each other. The top two teams from each group and the eight best third-placed teams will advance to the knockout stage.
