Ajax sign Atlético Madrid youngster Montserrat
Ajax have signed Jano Monserrat, a young attacking midfielder from Atlético Madrid, who will first join the U23 squad.
Ajax have signed another young player today, arriving from Atlético Madrid. Jano Monserrat, born 2006, is an attacking midfielder who can also play on both flanks. Last season, he appeared in two matches for Atlético Madrid. Ajax has signed him and he will first join Jong Ajax, their U23 team. The club said in a statement: "Ajax and Atlético Madrid have agreed to the immediate transfer of Jano Monserrat. The 20-year-old midfielder has signed a four-year contract in Amsterdam, effective until 30 June 2030. Monserrat will join the Ajax U23 squad immediately. Monserrat was born on 28 January 2006 in Saragossa, Spain, and is a Spanish international player. He made his debut for Atlético Madrid U19. Joining the team in the middle of the 2024/2025 season, he became a regular player for the club's reserve team. He made his debut for Atlético Madrid on 31 January 2026, in a league match against Levante UD.
