Liga reported in an official statement that a pre-match investigation found field conditions to be unsuitable for play, forcing Athletic Club to withdraw. The Athletic Club sent its team to the hotel and it was already clear that play was not possible on this day. Athletic will now face Alaves in the next match, which takes place on Saturday at 4:15pm.

Levante will play against Villarreal on Sunday. If we talk about deciding the date and time of the new match between the two clubs, then it will happen soon, because both the teams are not playing any competition in Europe. Last season, a match between Levante and Villarreal was also postponed due to weather warnings.

This time, the ground was filled with water before the match and the rain was continuing. Weather conditions made this game completely impossible. The players began warm-up, but a sudden heavy rain stopped the game. The referee called everyone back to the locker room and ultimately decided to suspend the game.

The meteorological agency had issued a warning of heavy rain since morning. Initially there was hope that the match would be held on time, but as the time approached, expectations diminished.

Now Athletic will have to prepare for the next match without its three World Cup champions, Unai Simeone, Aymeric Laporte and Nico Williams. In the coming days, Athletic also has to play the final of the Euskal Herria Copa.

Finally, Athletic and Levante will have to decide on a date for the new match, and it is likely that it will take place after the first league hiatus.
