German players look back at 'special moment' after match against CuraƧao
Germany's players experienced a unique moment after their victory against CuraƧao in their opening World Cup match. Players from both teams prayed together at the end of the match.
The players from Germany and CuraƧao prayed together after the match instead of shaking hands. Germany's players, Jonathan Tah and Felix Nmecha, prayed shoulder to shoulder with CuraƧao's international players, such as Gerwen Castaner, Jurien Garry, Kenzie Gorre and Jeremy Antonis. It was an emotional moment that was captured by many cameras, journalists and spectators. āWe are adversaries in matches, but after that we are all Christians and brothers,ā Nmecha told ARD. We said a little prayer together, because we are thankful. We all believe that Jesus is glorified through sports, so we came together.'
