Belgian midfielder Nicolas Raskin has said he is "very happy" at Rangers but uncertainty remains over a potential January transfer. The 25-year-old scored his first goal in a 2-2 draw against Dundee last weekend, and has featured in all of Rangers' last seven matches. He was linked with the possibility of leaving the club in the summer and his absence from some matches was the reason for this.

Raskin has made over 150 appearances for the club since joining Rangers in January 2023 and has also gained 22 caps for the Belgium national team. "It wasn't that hard," he said when asked about focusing on Rangers after the World Cup and transfer uncertainty. "The hardest thing was not being able to play. When I used to watch my teammates play, that was probably the hardest time I had in this transfer window. When you're an ambitious player, you want to go higher and higher. I thought maybe there will come a time when I can go for a new challenge. I'm not pushing for anything because I'm very happy here. It's a big club. This club helped me get into the Belgian national team. Which is a big, big opportunity. I don't need to stress about it. We have a lot of time to try to win as many games as we can.

When asked if he was considering extending his contract before the end of next season, the Belgian said, "I don't know, it's not up to me. It's up to the club." Rangers coach Derrick McInnes said of Raskin, "We're not planning on losing players in January and Nico has been an important player for us. We expect him to be an important part of a successful Rangers team this season. January is not a time when you want to lose important players. Clubs can make bids for players that are above their value. If there's an opportunity to work with Nico I wouldn't be against it. Nico told me he would "He could jump on some things at the end of the transfer window, but he's keen to stay here and be part of a successful team. Unless something happens that really changes his mind, we'll keep working together."

Meanwhile, McInnes revealed an illness has hit his squad and could cast doubt on the chances of two regular starters playing against Scottish Premiership rivals St Johnstone on Saturday.
