Arthur Zagre, who plays for FC Ukraine, always dreamed of playing against his biggest idol Lionel Messi. He said, "I had thought many times in my childhood that one day I would play against Messi." But recently his wish remained unfulfilled. Last month, Zagre was called up by the Burkina Faso national team for two qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations. After appearing in these matches, he also got a chance to play against Argentina in a friendly match, which was Messi's farewell tour.

"When I heard that I could play against Messi, I was beyond happy. But unfortunately, when our team took off in Buat, we encountered a technical problem," Zagre said. Burkina Faso players faced a lot of problems due to their travel schedule.

They had to arrange for another plane, which delayed their arrival in Argentina. When he finally arrived, Messi's hopes of playing were also gone. "I thought that even if I sit on the bench, the experience of playing against Messi would be amazing," Zagre said.

But in the end, the Burkina Faso team suffered a 7–0 defeat against Argentina. "This wish of mine didn't come true, but it did allow me to appreciate other experiences in my career," Zagre said.

"It's some things in life that you want so much, but just when you're so close to getting them, they slip away," Zagre said, maintaining his smile. He also said, "My wish came true, but I am not disappointed. I am enjoying my experiences."

Zagre also said that he keeps an eye on events in his country and keeps up with his country's football developments through social media.

Thus, Arthur Zagre's dream remained unfulfilled, but he took it from a positive perspective and focused on other achievements in his career.
