Arsenal and Chelsea have identified Inter Milan's 23-year-old midfielder Andy Diouf as a potential transfer target. The youngster has made his mark in Italian football and is now attracting the attention of big clubs. According to an exclusive report, both Premier League clubs are closely monitoring Diouf's progress.

Diouf has proven his potential since joining Inter from Lens in August 2025, cementing his reputation in Europe. Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also showing interest in Diouf's talents, indicating competition for his signature could increase. His performances for France have further increased this interest, particularly due to his ability to play in multiple positions.

For Arsenal and Chelsea, Diouf's attraction is obvious. He possesses the athleticism, technical qualities and positional adaptability required of midfielders competing at the top level. However, convincing Inter to sell him could be quite complicated. According to reports, Diouf is currently valued at around €30 million, but Inter Milan will demand €50 to €60 million for him.

Diouf's contract runs until June 2030, giving Inter considerable control over his forecast. This contract becomes more important at a time when clubs are reluctant to release key players without proper replacements in January.

Inter's position becomes stronger when talking about Diouf's increasing sense of urgency. He can play as a centre-back, wing-back or traditional full-back, providing the Italian club with significant flexibility. Thus, any interested club will need to demonstrate a substantial financial commitment.

For Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, Diouf is an interesting immediate proposition. Arteta has always appreciated footballers who can understand multiple roles within his preferred positional structures. Diouf's ability to carry the ball through midfield and play effectively in wide areas could provide Arsenal with additional immediate chances. Chelsea's interest is equally understandable.

Their recruitment strategy has often focused on young players who possess athletic ability, opportunities for technical development and considerable resale value. Diouf's profile closely matches those principles. Leaving Inter does not seem immediately possible. The Italian club are not motivated to weaken their squad, especially with Diouf tied to a long contract.

Arsenal and Chelsea could see an opportunity in the coming months to test whether Diouf's performances justify a significant summer investment in him. For Diouf, continued development in Serie A and international football could strengthen his position.

The challenge for Arsenal and Chelsea will be whether his versatility provides enough value to justify a potential €60 million investment. With several European giants eyeing him, this decision could ultimately prove to be a costly one. From an Arsenal supporters' point of view, Andy Diouf is the type of emerging talent that deserves a closer look.

What will happen next

Arsenal and Chelsea may now face challenges in negotiating with Inter Milan, with the club demanding a high price for Diouf. If these Premier League clubs want to sign Diouf, they will have to move strategically to meet Inter's demands. Meanwhile, interest from other teams like Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain could further increase competition.
