Portuguese football coach Jorge Jesus is facing threats of being fired if he does not publicly apologize to Cristiano Ronaldo. This information has been shared by his friend Carlos Padrao. Padrao said that one of Ronaldo's colleagues called Jesus and threatened that if he did not apologize to Ronaldo, he would be removed from his post as coach.

The incident occurred when the Portugal team recently played against Norway in the UEFA Nations League. Ronaldo warmed up for about 25 minutes before the match, but was not called to play. Ronaldo had expressed his displeasure on this. Padrão reported that the threat was made to an associate of Jesus, and added, "It was a kind of pressure so that Jesus would apologize to Ronaldo."

Padarao also said that Ronaldo's colleagues had prepared a statement for Jesus, which he was to read at the press conference, but Jesus did not do so. He was not ready to apologize to Ronaldo. "Jesus said he wouldn't apologize to anyone, he admitted his mistakes, but asking for forgiveness is a different thing," Padrao said.

The controversy started when Portugal played against Norway. Jesus had earlier made a plan with Ronaldo that he would be played in this international match, but later he was kept out of the match. Ronaldo did not get a chance to play against Norway, although earlier he was told that he would play. This situation was humiliating for Ronaldo.

Padarao said that Jesus is very sad about this situation. "I spoke to Jesus this morning, he's very sad. He didn't think it would get this bad." Jesus and Ronaldo worked together at Al Nassr Club, where they also won the Saudi Pro League title.

Padarao said Jesus had helped convince Ronaldo not to end his international career, especially as he was thinking of retiring after the World Cup 2026. Jesus told Ronaldo that he should end his career on a good note.

This situation is putting Jorge Jesus in even more trouble because of his relationship with Ronaldo. He said that Jesus was confident that he would resolve this dispute with Ronaldo, but now the matter has become quite complicated.

What will happen next

The focus will be on Jesus' condition in the upcoming matches, especially when Portugal have to play against Denmark. If Jesus does not apologize to Ronaldo, questions may be raised about his coaching role. This situation could also affect Portugal's chances in the UEFA Nations League.
